Sydney McBride is a North Carolina based artist who explores issues of identity through the lens of her own memory in the mediums of printmaking, drawing, and painting. In May of 2017, she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art and English. Often using family photographs and influences from literature, she analyzes how memories of places, objects, and experiences shape an individual. Her artwork seeks to encourage reflection on one’s own lived experience in order to foster understanding of the greater human existence to which humanity is always seeking answers.
